Did you see the list of things to participate in this coming year at both our WPR and National AACA events? It is going to be a busy summer and I probably won’t even reach for my golf clubs.

I started all the cars up when the sun came out about two weeks ago. I let them all run long enough to make sure they reached operating temperature and then continued to run longer to dry everything out. This year I do have them in a heated garage so they should come out of winter in pretty good shape. The only one I have neglected is my old Ford Pickup which I have stored in a rented garage. I have to figure some way to get it home so it enjoys the luxury of a heated garage. It was a life long Alabama / Georgia resident so it probably doesn’t care much for our winters. Of course I think I’m starting to get that way myself.

I attended our initial planning meeting for the 2010 Founders Tour a couple of weeks ago. It was a pleasure to sit down with those of our members who attended and watch them work together to give us a great start on the project. It was so much different than what I have experienced recently in another car club in which I participate. That club is in the process of planning a national meet for next summer. I have attended four of their meetings and each one has gotten more divisive with so many personal agendas coming to the surface I am shocked. I don’t think they will ever make it come together. I know we have some disagreements but that is the real world. We do have a good club so let’s keep it rolling. Come out to the events, volunteer, get into the mix and have a good time among friends.
