News from National AACA:

The President reported that there were some changes made by National AACA regarding membership. The changes include National offering four free I year national memberships which may be used by the region for new first time AACA members. They have suggested that the Region may want to also offer a one year membership to our region along with this National AACA membership.

Each Member will also receive free admission to the Museum in Hershey as well as free research time in the library.

Annual WPR Awards:

The Region presents three awards each year in the following Categories:

The Jack Clark Award, formally known as the Robert E. Levine Award: This award has previously described as an award to the person who does the most for the club. That description is not really accurate. The award is to be presented annually to the member that best exemplifies the ideals and traditions set forth by the award: one who gives of one’s self to their fellow members and hobby with dedication and unselfishness.

The Foster Fike Award: This award is given annually to a member for the best restoration of  historic antique automobile and who best exemplifies the skills necessary as shown by their restoration.

The Paul P. Bell Award: This award is given annually to the Western PA Region member who has shown a collector vehicle at the annual car show, and is based upon the vehicle’s uniqueness, appearance, condition and rarity.

In order to present these awards at the annual meeting, the board has decided that nominations and balloting for these awards will take place at the October meeting. The nominations will be closed at the October meeting and ballots will be cast by those present. Ballots will also appear in the November Round-Up for those wishing to vote but did not attend the October meeting but no additional nominations will be accepted after the nominations are closed at the October meeting.

2008 Chance Car:

The 2008 Chance Car will be another Mustang, The car is a 1965 red coupe six cylinder with an automatic transmission and was purchased for $ 8,000. The car is coming from Dayton Ohio.
