FROM THE EDITOR

Well we made it through the holidays and are looking forward to the first activity of 2007, our Annual Business Meeting and Dinner. So far the winter has been mild, some have been playing golf and I’m sure some been seen sneaking their cars out for a little cruise. Skiing has not been that great. Before you know it we will be on the road again.

On December 13th we did have a trip back down to Dawson to visit the Cochran Mansion in full Christmas dress. It was very beautiful and the meal we were served was really great. We didn’t have any antiques on the trip other than a few of us old club members. Big thanks to Marianne and Ron Caruso for making all of the arrangements. Look for Clay Stoner’s pictures on the club web site if you really want to see a beautiful Victorian home dressed up for Christmas.

Shortly after our trip to Dawson and before Christmas, Joanna Shearer suffered a heart attack. She has had corrective surgery and is doing well with her recovery. We can be thankful that both Shearer’s and doing well, two heart attacks in one family, in one year, are two to many.

I wanted to comment on Fred Nichols “Remembering” article in this month’s Round-Up. When I read his article concerning Tom’s recent program on the history of the Region and then followed Fred’s memories of AACA past events and friendships, it makes me feel very envious of those who have had longer tenure in the club and in the hobby. I really value the new friendships and new adventures that are now available to me as a member or the WPR and I hope to take as full advantage of my membership as possible.

Think bare roads and sunshine.
