FROM THE EDITOR Please send prayers and your best wishes to Debbie and Bill Rusnock. You may have noticed that they have not been active recently, and there is a definite void at our activities when they aren’t with us. Bill is fighting a big battle and we need to let them know that we are all pulling for them to get back to us. Join me in thanking Fred Nicholls and Warren Sheppick for submitting their interesting articles to our newsletter. I enjoy them very much and they make our newsletter interesting. No doubt about it, if you are a car buff this is a tough time of the year. If you are fortunate enough to have a heated garage you can of course get some work completed toward improving that car. If you don’t have that heated garage the way the temperatures have been you are relegated doing a lot of planning about what you want to do and dreaming about spring. I’m really rooting for Punxsutawney Phil and that prediction of an early spring. I personally have a big problem because I love to drive the cars. If we get a nice winter day like we had early this winter with a 40 / 45 degree temperature, the roads are dry and the salt has been washed off, look out because I’ll be cruising somewhere. You would think that after wearing out 17 company cars and driving a million miles as a sales engineer I would be ready to ride the co-pilot seat. I’m not, but there is a big difference now because I drive the cars I want to drive and I drive at retired speed. That’s how I got in trouble on the club’s Showshoe trip last year. Sunday, January 28, we held our annual meeting at Dino’s Sports Lounge – Banquet Room. John Kuhn’s did his usual yeoman’s duty putting arrangements together but this year there was one major change. John did not show up, but who needs John when we have his son John Ross. John Ross did a great job covering for his dad as well as carrying out his own duties as a Club Director. Last year’s Director Team, who did such a great job, are all back except for our Secretary, John Rusnock. Ron Caruso will be serving as our Secretary on the 2007 Board. The remarks by our own AACA Director and Executive Vice President, Dave Berg were great. Read our Presidents message and if possible volunteer for some of the open spots we need to fill to keep the WPR going full blast. We have elected a good slate of directors but they can not do it alone. It is our Club and it won’t succeed unless we all pitch in to help. 3 |
