2008 Chance Car:

Debbie and Dave Sheetz were not present, however the President presented their report. All 5000 tickets were sold. However two different envelopes contained two tickets resulting in our falling $10 short of our goal. The winning ticket was sold to Rodger Paolhamus and that ticket was sold by Ashley Kuhns. As of this meeting we have not worked up the breakdown on how much money the club made in the Chance Car Project. Chance Car Tickets were sold by 49 different club members.

Annual Car Show:

Our 45th annual car show will be held on August 31 at the Legion Keener Park. Harvey served as the Chairman of the Show and gave the following report.
This was perhaps one of the best, if not the best, car show held by our Region. We had 267 registered cars on the show field plus the many cars of our members. Member participation in the event was beyond my expectation; Yellow “T” shirts were everywhere. Not only did the presence of so many members make everyone’s job easier but also it highlighted to the public how many people it takes to put on such a successful event. I could have not been happier with the way things went. Thanks to Carol Calabrace for handling registration, Barb Erny for handling finances, Connie Schifano for heading up the bake sale, Debbie Sheetz for handling the Chinese Auction, and our dancing cowgirls, Dodie, Robin, Nancy, Susan and Joyce for the 50-50. And to all the other Members who worked the show, thank you too. A detailed financial report will be presented at the next meeting. Lets give ourselves a big round of applause for the hard work put in at the car show.

 Westmoreland Fairgrounds Swap Meet:

The 2008 Swap Meet will be held at the Westmoreland Fairgrounds on September 19, 20 & 21. Harvey Eger, Chair of the event reported as follows:
Charlie Schifano is handling personnel assignments. Anyone with questions about where they are working or what time to arrive, etc. are to be directed to Charlie.
Tom Ulishney is in charge of the Car Corral. I believe Tom has everything squared away.
Connie Schifano is handling the Craft Show and this year we will have two buildings filled with Crafters.
There are a number of Posters which need to be put up in the next few days. Please remember that you must retrieve all of the Posters and get them back at the next meeting.
For those of you working the Gate or in Vendor Registration you must be at the Fair Grounds at 7AM; that’s when the vendors will start to arrive. Things will taper off later in the morning in so far as registration is concerned.
John Rusnock has agreed to supervise Vendor Registration and Services.
Barb Erny will be handling Finances.
Howard Finney will be manning a Membership Booth to drum up new members.
We will be selling Show “T” Shirts and water.
