It is with sadness that I note the passing of a longtime member of the Western PA Region, Warren Sheppick. On behalf of the Board of Directors and our Membership, my condolences to the Sheppick Family. Looking back over the last month or so, I was very pleased with the turnout of Members at our Annual Car Show. I’m not sure how many of you were there working to make the Car Show a success, but to all of you who showed up in your “Yellow Shirts”, many, many thanks. I can’t remember seeing so many of you at one of our events, but thanks for pitching in. There were “Yellow Shirts” all over the place. It looked like a swarm of bumblebees, buzzing around and taking care of business. As for the Swap Meet, we had a dedicated group of Members who worked very hard to make the meet a success. Although I will present a detailed report at our next meeting, let me say we were way ahead of last year on attendance and vendors. Once again, the Vendors continue to be very supportive of our efforts, even though many of them did very little business. I would say Friday was the best day for Vendors and Saturday was the best day for the Region. Thanks to the Members for a job well done…I know it was a tough weekend, and everyone worked very hard. My thanks and congratulations to all of you. On the “horizon” Hershey is underway as I write this message, and I am just about packed and ready to go. Although I look forward to the flea market and AACA Meet, I realize that the “season” is almost over and we will be putting our cars away for the winter. There are still a number of car shows and cruises during the month of October, and I’m sure I’ll see many of you at these events. But don’t worry; it will be spring before you know it. Harvey Eger 4 |
