OLD BUSINESS:

2007 WPR Awards and Nominations:

Every year the WPR recognizes three members of our Region with awards for outstanding service to the region or accomplishments in our hobby. In years past the nominations, the voting and the presentation of the awards was all accomplished at the Annual Meeting. This year nominations were made at the meeting on October 16 and the voting was conducted at the October 16 meeting,  the November 20 meeting and also by mailing in a ballot prior to the November meeting. Ballots are to be included in the November issue of the Round-Up.

Selecting the award winners was clarified in as much as the total membership votes on the Jack Clark Award and the Foster Fike Award and the Board of Directors decide the winner of the Paul P Bell Award. This was resolved after a discussion initiated by David Sheetz and decided by a motion and vote of the membership. ( A full explanation or the awards and a listing of this year’s nominees appear on the Ballots)

The following members were nominated during the nomination process.

The Jack Clark Award, formally known as the Robert E. Levine Award: This award has previously described as an award to the person who does the most for the club. That description is not really accurate. The award is to be presented annually to the member that best exemplifies the ideals and traditions set forth by the award: one who gives of one’s self to their fellow members and hobby with dedication and unselfishness.

Nominees: Harvey Eger, Barb Erny, Howard Finney, Eleanor Kanick, Fred Nicholl, Charles Schifano & Connie Schifano

The Foster Fike Award: This award is given annually to a member for the best restoration of  historic antique automobile and who best exemplifies the skills necessary as shown by their restoration.

Nominees: Chris Detwiller & John Kuhns

The Paul P. Bell Award: This award is given annually to the Western PA Region member who has shown a collector vehicle at the annual car show, and is based upon the vehicle’s uniqueness, appearance, condition and rarity.

Nominee: Winner to be decided by the Board of Directors
