FROM THE PRESIDENT

Our Swap Meet, Car Corral and Craft Fair was held on September 28, 29 and 30, and I am pleased to report it exceeded our expectations.   Thanks to everyone’ hard work, we turned a surprising profit of $1,295.  There were 45 parts vendors on Saturday, 15 cars and 8 custom choppers in the Car Corral and 12 crafters in the Craft Fair.  More than 55 cars attended our Saturday car cruise, and over 500 people came through the gate that day.  Most of the comments were positive, and many of our vendors have volunteered to help us grow this event into the premier Swap Meet in the area.

None of this would have been possible without the help of the WPR Members who worked so hard during the months of planning, as well as at the Meet on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Tom Ulishney handled the Car Corral, along with wife, Dodie, Charlie Schifano, Don and Mary Ann Brandt and Dave and Debbie Sheetz.  Connie Schifano was in charge of the Craft Fair, with help from Barb Erny.  My Co-Chairman, Gene Hawk, along with Bob Inhoff, Dick McKelvey, Ralph Shearer and Susan Eger helped lay out the vendor spaces.  John Rusnock, Bob Inhoff, and Dick McKelvey ran our registration process, as well as Saturday’s Car Cruise, with help from Debbie and Dave Sheetz.  Nancy and John Wolf took charge of staffing the gate with help from Eleanor and Stan Kanick, Al Terek, Howard Finney, Nancy and Dick McKelvey, Jim and Susanne Pershing,  Fred & Ann Nicholls,  Ralph & Joanna Shearer, Bob & Joyce Inhoff,, Clay Stoner, Connie Schifano and Marianne Caruso, Susan Eger and Carol Calabrace, and Debby Sheetz and Dodie Ulishney.  John Kuhns was on hand early Saturday and Sunday to direct the vendors to our registration booth.  Ron Caruso, with help from Dick McKelvey  and the Boy Scouts from Troop 472 Norvelt made sure that the trash was picked up and properly disposed of.   Our resident disc jockey, Pete Highlands made arrangements for us to have music at the Car Cruise, which was organized by John Ross Kuhns.  Nancy McKelvey, Susan Eger and John Ross sold the 50-50 tickets on Saturday.  Dodie Ulishney and Mary Ann  Brandt sold T-shirts, and  last but not least, Barb Erny handled our finances.  If I overlooked any of our volunteers, please accept my apologies.
